The ASH Berlin ranked top in the „Research“ category in the „2005 performance-related funding scheme“ initiated by the Berlin Science Senate.
The ASH Berlin views research as an integral component of university development. The ASH Berlin has long provided internal funds for the promotion of research and has been successful in securing considerable third-party funding. Numerous publications document the results of this vibrant and predominantly interdisciplinary research activity.
The ASH’s active research focus improves the quality of teaching and enables students to use scientific methods to explore and interpret new social developments.
Doctorates
Attaining a doctorate is becoming ever more attractive for graduates of universities of applied sciences. Section 35 of the Berlin Higher Education Act enables ASFH graduates to pursue doctoral research at a doctorate-awarding university, with support from the university of applied sciences. The ASFH supports doctoral candidates via colloquiums and a special programme of bursaries for women.
