Community dance
The seminar is in presence and regular attendance is expected!
In this dance seminar we look at dance in the tension between free self-expression and the expression of a certain culture. How can dance and movement help to get to know each other, to integrate people and to find a way into a foreign culture?
We deal with different forms of dance and movement. Dance and movement improvisation will be a way to get to know each other, to get a feeling for our bodies and our self-expression. In doing so, we will discover and expand our natural movement repertoire in order to really come into contact with our bodies and their natural forms of expression. In addition we will learn various circle, line and alley dances from all over the world with a focus on the Balkan region and South Italy.
To receive the certificate of participation for the course students have to introduce a dance or a dance or movement improvisation to warm up. Participants are welcome to bring their own favorite dances to the seminar. As an exam, you have the opportunity to study a selected dance in more detail, both theoretically and practically, and to teach the dance to the other participants. There is also the opportunity to write a paper about a specific dance or dance form or dancer. Excursions are part of the seminar and are announced on Moodle. |
