Announcement of the presidential elections at Alice Salomon Hochschule Berlin
in accordance with §§ 9-12 of the Basic Regulations (GO) in conjunction with the ASH Berlin election regulations
To be elected:

Each member of the Executive Board is responsible for their own area of responsibility within the guidelines. The areas of responsibility and the permanent representation by a First Vice President are regulated in a distribution of responsibilities, which is announced to the Academic Senate, the Extended Academic Senate, the Board of Trustees and the university. Part-time Vice Presidents receive remuneration for the duration of their four-year term of office (or two-year term of office for students) in accordance with § 3 of the implementation regulations on the determination of functional benefits for members of the university management of Berlin
universities (AV FLB Hochschulleitung).
Eligibility for election:
The position of President is publicly advertised by the university; internal and external applications are possible. The President is elected by the Extended Academic Senate from the nominations of the Academic Senate, taking into account the proposals of the Board of Trustees. Click here for the job advertisement.
There is no public advertisement for Vice Presidents; members of ASH Berlin from all member groups can be elected. The Vice Presidents are elected by the Extended Academic Senate on the recommendation of at least one third of the members of the Academic Senate or the President or the Board of Trustees. The election proposal for a Vice President for Studies and Teaching is made in consultation with the Commission for Teaching and Studies (LSK).
The position of Chancellor is publicly advertised; internal and external applications are possible. The Chancellor is elected by the Extended Academic Senate on the recommendation of the current President, which is made in agreement with the Board of Trustees. Click here for the job advertisement.
Election procedure:
The candidates for the positions of President, Vice-President and Chancellor are elected by the Extended Academic Senate with the votes of the majority of its members. If you have any questions about the presidential elections, please contact the election committee.
Planned procedure:
1. submission of applications (P, K) and election proposals (VP)
Applications for the advertised positions must be submitted to the Senate Administration for Science by the deadline, see announcements.
Election proposals for Vice President must be submitted to the office of the election committee in text form by 12.03.2026, 10:00 a.m. using the election proposal form: wahlvorstand@ash-berlin.eu. The election proposal form can be requested from the office.
2. Resolution of the election proposals P, VP in the Academic Senate
At the meeting of the Academic Senate on 14.04.2026, election proposals for the positions of President and Vice-President will be adopted.
3Resolution of the election proposals P, VP by the Board of Trustees
At the meeting of the Board of Trustees on 21.04.2026, election proposals are adopted for the positions of President and Vice-Presidents.
4. Resolution of the election proposals K by the President in agreement with the Board of Trustees
The incumbent President submits her election proposal for the position of Chancellor in agreement with the Board of Trustees.
5Public university presentation of the nominees (P, VP, K)
A public university event (election forum) is planned before the hearings in the EAS, at which the nominees present their election program to the university public.
6Hearings in the Extended Academic Senate(P, VP, K)
The hearings of the nominees in the Extended Academic Senate are planned for 15.06. and 16.06.2026.
7. Election in the Extended Academic Senate
The elections for the positions of President, Vice-Presidents and Chancellor are planned for the meeting of the Extended Academic Senate on 01.07.2026. If necessary, the Extended Academic Senate will convene for further elections on 08.07.2026.
