Graciana-Virginye Versteeg, a graduate of the Master's degree program in Management and Quality Development the Health Sector at Alice Salomon University of Applied Sciences Berlin, has been awarded the Young Talent Award for Patient Safety by Aktionsbündnis Patientensicherheit e. V..
In her Master's thesis, which impressed with its scientific quality as well as its practice-relevant findings, she dealt with the topic of patient safety in long-term care. She trained around 180 long-term care staff in a so-called Room of Horror. The training showed that it increases awareness of resident safety. Graciana-Virginye Versteeg received two awards for her outstanding achievement:
- the Young Scientist Award from the nationwide Patient Safety Action Alliance,
- and the ASH Berlin prize for the best thesis.
Graciana-Virginye Versteeg currently works as a training officer at Pflegewohnzentrum Kaulsdorf-Nord gGmbH, where she contributes her expertise to training and quality assurance.
