Quality-oriented university management is of great importance for strategic university development and strengthening the SAGE profile. The newly established Integrated Quality Management (IQM) will strengthen the culture of a systematically communicating and learning organization.
The IQM kick-off event, which took place on 21.07.2024 in the Audimax at ASH Berlin, was an important first step in this direction.
It highlighted a great deal of interest in the topic of quality development and the need to strengthen positive aspects and to make visible, pool and expand what already exists, as well as to take experience and expert knowledge into account.
The establishment of Integrated Quality Management (IQM) is based on a consistently integrative approach that systematically links the QM activities of different areas such as studies, teaching, research and administration in order to exploit synergy effects and sustainably ensure and improve quality in all organizational units. IQM is initiated and implemented jointly by the Department of Quality Management and Development in Studies and Teaching and the Process and Quality Management (PQM) staff unit.
As part of IQM, university stakeholders are informed about quality standards and processes. They are given access to consistent data (= important basis for quality development). This makes it easier for all those responsible to make well-founded strategic decisions. It promotes collaboration and profile development at ASH Berlin in line with its SAGE profile. In the sense of facilitation, the IQM supports the framework in such a way that the capacities of teaching staff and program managers are freed up for the core processes of teaching and research.
