The Central Women's* and Equal Opportunities Council at ASH Berlin today unanimously elected Nina Lawrenz as the university's Central Women's* and Equal Opportunities Officer for a further term of office.
"We are currently facing urgent challenges as gender equality actors, but also in society as a whole," says Nina Lawrenz. "In order to counter anti-democracy, queer and trans hostility, anti-feminism and cuts at universities, we need professionalized and long-term equality structures as well as stable, solidary networks. I am very pleased to be able to further expand these at ASH and beyond and to be able to continue to advance intersectional equality and anti-discrimination work at our university in the coming years and strengthen the interests of women, trans*, inter* and non-binary people (TIN)."
Nina Lawrenz has been the Women's* and Gender Equality Officer at ASH Berlin since 2022 and in this role also heads the Intersectional Practice and Transformation (InPuT) department. In addition, as a board member of bukof (Federal Conference of Women's and Equal Opportunities Officers at Universities) and deputy spokesperson for LakoF (Berlin State Conference of Women's and Equal Opportunities Officers), she is closely networked in the national and state-wide equality structures.
