Every vote counts!
With the first-year student survey, we want to understand the general expectations and attitudes of students starting their studies at Alice Salomon University and how they experience the start of their studies and their first semester at our university. The following topics were included in the survey: study choice and motivation, transition to studies and first semester, overall satisfaction and individual life circumstances and study situation.
The target group for this survey are students who started their studies in the summer semester 25 and were invited to participate by email. In accordance with data protection regulations, participation in the online surveys and other internal university surveys for the purpose of evaluating studies and teaching is voluntary. We deliberately avoid mandatory questions and invite students to share their experiences and opinions. With your support, the start of studies can be made more pleasant for future students. Together we can help to continuously optimize the study conditions and adapt them to current needs.
Origin
Over the past few months, the Quality Management Unit of the QME SuL department has drawn up the evaluation concept for internal quality assurance and development. In accordance with the concept, the survey for new students was developed with the involvement of the departmental quality management team.
Several administrative areas and study programs from Departments I and II were involved in the design of the survey instrument. As part of the pre-test, students now also have the opportunity to evaluate the questionnaire with regard to the comprehensibility of the questions and the completeness of the topics and thus directly contribute to the design of the survey instrument. The survey instrument will be revised after the pre-test.
