Project duration: 01/08/2024 - 31/12/2026
Principal investigator: Prof. Dr. Lutz Schumacher
Project staff: Franziska Gierke (Research Associate), Marie-Luise Posselt (Research Associate), Beyza Kösker (Student Assistant)
Abstract:
The aim of the research project is to identify the specific cultural, structural, and social characteristics of healthy nursing homes that equally promote health and performance-enhancing living and working conditions for residents and staff.
To understand what defines healthy nursing homes and how they can be developed, qualitative case studies of long-term nursing homes with varying levels of maturity will be conducted.
The case studies will illustrate the concrete solutions that nursing homes have developed to promote the health of both residents and staff, as well as the obstacles they had to overcome along the way.
Based on the findings, a driver-indicator model for healthy nursing homes will be developed.
In addition, a handbook will be created, providing practical examples and recommendations for promoting the health and quality of life of residents and staff in nursing homes.
