International Japanese delegation visits ASH Berlin

Representatives from three Japanese universities and an NGO exchanged ideas with Department I and the International Office

On Tuesday, a five-member delegation from Japan visited ASH Berlin. The group led by Professor Shuji Ikuta, Head of the Faculty of Education at Nara University of Education, was interested in an exchange with representatives of Faculty I - Social Work and the International Office of ASH Berlin.

Irene Gropp, Head of the International Office, introduced ASH Berlin to the visitors and pointed out the university's long history and special features. Together with Anne Hübinger, she also presented the COIL - Collaborative Online International Learning project and answered questions about international exchange. The guests from Japan reported on how their university enables students to spend 1-2 semesters abroad in Australia, the UK and the USA.

The Dean of Faculty I, Prof. Dr. Heinz Stapf-Finé, presented the international and interdisciplinary project EEE4all Euro-Education: Employability for All. EEE4all enables students at ASH Berlin to contribute to improving the employability of people who are disadvantaged on the labor market due to their migration background. He also provided information about the annual International Summer School, the curriculum of the Bachelor's degree program in Social Work and the work of the Alice Salomon Archive.

After the meeting, the guests thanked him for the informative and pleasant exchange, which was enriching for both sides.
