News Welcoming the new cohort of students on the Master's degree program in Child Protection

The course is aimed at professionals from child and youth welfare, social work, childhood education, education and healthcare

The Master's degree course 'Child Protection - Dialogic Quality Development in Early Intervention and Child Protection' welcomes a new cohort of students for the summer semester 2026 and bids farewell to graduates who completed their studies last year.

The first Master's degree course in Germany on the subject of early help and child protection was launched at Alice Salomon University of Applied Sciences Berlin in 2015 and is aimed at professionals from child and youth welfare, social work, childhood education, education and healthcare. The aim of the course is to enable participants to design effective support processes together with families, children and the professions involved. This includes initiating suitable processes of organizational development and further developing the quality of early help and child protection in a dialogical and sustainable manner. Upon completion of the Master's degree course, students are also awarded the certificate "Insoweit erfahrene Fachkraft - Fachberatung im Kinderschutz".

A special feature of the course is the close link between science and practice. Students benefit from small study groups and contact with practice partners from the cooperation network 'Quality Development in Science and Practice' (QE-WiPrax), which is affiliated with the course. After graduation, graduates are invited to participate in the diverse activities of the QE-WiPrax cooperation network, such as specialist conferences, further education and training, publications, and thus remain in contact with the university. Outstanding Master's theses are published in a separate book series by Tectum-Verlag .

We congratulate the graduates and wish all new students a successful start to their studies!
