How to apply, dates and deadlines

We will send you the link to our application portal via e-mail once you have been nominated.

Please prepare the following documents for your application (documents must be in PDF format with a maximum size of 5 MB):

• Scan of your passport or national ID document
• Transcript of Records from your home university (German or English or English translation) (= list of courses you already completed at your home university)

At the end of the online application, a PDF form with your application details will be created. Please save the form, sign it on the last page and send it via e-mail to incoming@ash-berlin.

The form needs to have arrived before the deadline.

The general minimum requirement for a semester abroad at ASH Berlin is level B1 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages in German or English, depending on the language of instruction. You must provide proof of your language level with your application at your home university. No specific tests are required. If you have been selected by your home university for a semester abroad at ASH Berlin, we assume that you have proven to have the required language level.

We will accept you as an exchange student at ASH Berlin, if you were nominated for a student exchange by your home university on time and if you completed our application process by the mentioned deadline. Your home university needs to be a partner university of ASH Berlin.  

You will receive confirmation of receipt of your documents by e-mail. Once you have been enrolled (end of June/end of January), we will send you a Letter of Acceptance by e-mail. Upon request, we can also issue a preliminary Letter of Acceptance once we have received your complete application.

You must also submit a Learning Agreement for your semester abroad. There is a detailed webinar on this topic, to which all nominated students will be invited by e-mail. You can already find a lot of information under Learning Agreement.
