KompetenzNetzwerk Qualitätsentwicklung in Studium und Lehre (KomNetz-QSL)
The state of Berlin is funding seven cross-university collaborative projects with a total of 8.2 million euros until 2024 as part of the "Digitization and Innovation" focus of the Quality and Innovation Offensive (2nd funding phase).
ASH Berlin is involved in the following two collaborative projects:
Collaborative Online International Learning (COIL). The International Office of ASH Berlin will, together with international partner universities and in association with the participating Berlin universities, colleges and the Charité, test and develop digital international teaching/learning offers in connection with short-term mobilities, which meaningfully complement the classic exchange formats during studies.
Platform for Applied Digital Teaching and Learning (PadLL) ASH Berlin, in association with Berlin's universities of applied sciences, focuses on the development and implementation of digital accessibility in studying and teaching. In this way, a contribution is made to strengthening inclusive approaches in studying and teaching with the aim of reducing barriers in the context of digital or media-supported teaching formats.
Since the beginning of 2021, the CompetenceNetwork Quality Development in Studies and Teaching (KomNetz-QSL) has been an agile organizational unit that bundles various competencies related to quality development in studies and teaching at the central university level and makes them accessible to the departments, study programs, teachers, students, as well as the university management and external communities of practice.
The tasks of the network include advising and supporting the departments, study programs, teachers and students of the university as well as the design and control of quality development and quality management processes and quality measures in teaching and learning. We provide impulses for participative and strategic quality development.
We....
The goal is to contribute to the development of a quality culture at ASH Berlin that promotes and supports the active and future-oriented design of learning and teaching as a joint task of all university members and member groups in accordance with the mission statement Learning and Teaching and makes this a tangible experience at the university.
With our activities, we contribute to the bundling and scientifically based further development of competencies and use professional interfaces to proactively initiate and support continuous processes of quality development at ASH Berlin.
Our understanding of quality is based on a holistic approach to quality development, which includes 1. teaching/learning actions, 2. curricula, 3. organizational structures and cultures as well as the special profile of the university as a SAGE university. We understand the university as a learning educational organization and thus quality as a continuous development process. We support quality development with a broad repertoire of process-oriented instruments in the areas of quality management and development, which we continuously refine. With regard to the design of student-centered educational formats, our focus is on the further development of both face-to-face and online-supported teaching/learning formats and their didactically sound interlinking.
In terms of future-oriented quality development, we are guided by the perspective of learner orientation and support a diversity-oriented and barrier-free design of studies and teaching. The aim of this is to reduce discrimination, to open up the university, to create educational equity and to strengthen the participation and involvement of students.
