Team für internationale Newcomer mit der Stabsstelle für Kooperation, Transfer und Third Mission

In the socio-political discourse, people seeking protection are increasingly portrayed as a threat to internal security rather than as individuals with individual rights. In this context, fundamental rights such as the right to asylum are being questioned more and more openly. As the ASH Pre-Study Program and Team for International Newcomers, we accompany international and refugee students as well as prospective students and would like to contribute to ensuring that as many students in the SAGE professions and employees of ASH Berlin as possible have the opportunity to learn about the rights of people who arrive in Germany after flight/migration processes and to be able to put them into practice.

Therefore, in cooperation with Emily Barnickel from Flüchtlingsrat Berlin e.V., we are offering a series of events on residence law issues in winter semester 2025/26:

  • Third-country nationals and consolidation of residence / 23.09.25, 16:00-18:00
  • Hardship regulations / 14.10.25, 16:00-18:00
  • Further residence titles and options for changing / 18.11.25, 16:00-18:00
  • Conclusion with open questions / 16.12.25, 16:00-18:00

The event is aimed at all interested university members (students, lecturers, advisors) and takes place at the invitation of the Team for International Newcomers together with the Office for Cooperation, Transfer and Third Mission.

We would be delighted if lecturers could take this series of events into account when planning their teaching for winter semester 2025/26 so that as many students as possible have the opportunity to take part.
