On September 19 and 20, 2025, the Alice Salomon University of Applied Sciences Berlin invites you to the annual conference "Pedagogy of Early Childhood under Unequal Conditions: Current research perspectives on education, quality and children's life situations" for academics in qualification phases in the field of early childhood education. The 22nd annual conference of the Qualification Network of the Commission on Early Childhood Education of the German Educational Research Association (DGfE) offers space for the presentation and discussion of current research projects as well as for peer-to-peer exchange.

To kick things off, we will address current social and political challenges for early childhood education on the occasion of International Children's Rights Day on September 20, 2025. A joint presentation by Prof. Dr. Rahel Dreyer, Professor of Pedagogy and Developmental Psychology of the First Years of Life, and Kristin Stammer, educational scientist M.A., will open the discourse. The starting point for the joint discussion will be Prof. Dr. Dreyer's IFAF Berlin-funded research project on the stress levels of children and educational professionals in daycare facilities.

In the further course of the conference, the focus will be on peer-to-peer exchange on approaches, challenges and perspectives in research on early childhood education . We are also pleased to be able to present and actively use the university's three learning workshops.

The conference is aimed in particular at Master's students and professionals with an interest in doctoral studies, doctoral students and post-docs in early childhood education and aims to contribute to networking, discussion and mutual support in the research process.

The program is available available for download here here.
Registration for the conference is here until August 03, 2025.
