Enough is enough! A global women* strike is being called for March 9, because “these threatening times call for a more powerful tool than petitions and patient demonstrations. That is why we are putting down our paid and unpaid work and calling for diverse forms of protest and action. Everyone according to their means.” – according to the organizers of the “Enough Genug” alliance.
We at ASH would also like to participate and come together on International Women's Day to hold our Women*/FLINTA* VV, for which all participants are to be released from work for 2 hours in accordance with the State Equality Act. We want to symbolically stop work together to draw attention to the ever-challenging social situation for women*/FLINTA*.
Therefore, as is already a good and very important tradition these days, we will meet at 10 a.m. in front of the university to raise the flag together. Afterwards, we invite all university members affected by sexism to a FLINTA* potluck breakfast in the foyer: Everyone brings a little something for the buffet, and we take the time and space to talk about the institution from a gender perspective, about workload, pay equity, and anything else that comes to mind.
Afterwards, everyone is cordially invited to travel together to the Berlin strike action at the Brandenburg Gate.
