Berlin's universities and ASH Berlin are facing major challenges. The Senate has unilaterally terminated the university contracts. In concrete terms, this means that it has put promised financial resources for the universities on hold and announced serious cuts instead.
The renegotiations on the university contracts will continue until July 14. They will discuss the specific cuts that the individual universities will face this year and in the coming years. On July 14, it will be decided how Berlin's universities will be financed in the future. One thing is clear: the cuts will mean serious cuts to science, studies and work at the universities.
A cross-university networking group of students, colleagues from various fields, trade unions, Asten/RefRat and many more are therefore jointly inviting you to a "lunch break against cuts".
During the lunch break, university employees and students will be informed about the cuts and the next step will be planned together: A rally of the Berlin universities on 14.07.2025.
