The symposium will focus on current addiction policy challenges, in particular the growing influence of economic interests on political decisions in the field of addiction prevention and help. Despite clear scientific recommendations, sectors such as the alcohol, tobacco and gambling industries continue to operate on the market with remarkable stability and innovative strength - not least thanks to targeted lobbying.
Among other things, the symposium will shed light on
- the current state of political influence by addictive substances industries,
- the effectiveness and political clout of prevention and help systems,
- as well as successful regulatory approaches - also from other European countries.
The aim is an interdisciplinary exchange between science, politics and practice in order to develop viable, evidence-based recommendations for a sustainable and fair addiction policy.
We look forward to your participation and a stimulating discussion.
