Since coming into force in 2006, the General Equal Treatment Act (AGG) has regulated protection against discrimination in certain areas of life that fall under civil law. This online training course will provide an overview of the AGG and the legal protection against discrimination it regulates. Case studies will be used to develop an initial understanding of the possibilities and limits of protection against discrimination under the AGG. Together we will look at the applicability and relevance of the AGG in the university context.

  • Overview of anti-discrimination law
  • Scope of application of the AGG
  • Protected characteristics/discrimination dimensions
  • Forms of discrimination and justification
  • Rights of employees
  • Organizational obligations, employer obligations
  • Claims under the AGG
  • Case studies

The training is conducted online and is aimed at all members of the university.
