Project duration: 01/07/2021 - 30/06/2024

Principal investigator: Prof. Dr. Susanne Gerull

Partners: Stiftung EIN ZUHAUSE

Abstract:
Housing First is an innovative approach to providing homeless people with their own housing. Starting in the USA, it has now been established and is successfully evaluated in many European countries. Homeless people with multiple problems are offered or provided with housing that is secure under a rental agreement, while at the same time being offered unconditional support. Following the first model projects in Germany, another Housing First project was implemented in Hanover in 2021 by the EIN ZUHAUSE foundation. It is being scientifically accompanied by ASH Berlin within the framework of a three-year evaluation in the sense of an extension of the previous basic research. The aim of the evaluation is to assess the effectiveness of the project on the basis of the goals formulated in the concept. The evaluation is carried out with the help of qualitative and quantitative research methods.
