Guidelines of the Service Center for Writing and Study Skills for individual consultations
Dear students,
As part of our service center for the Promotion of Writing and Wtudy skills, we offer individual consultations.
These are confidential and take place as follows:
- Location of the consultations:
We offer individual consultations in person and online via BBB
Duration of the counseling sessions:
The length of a consultation is 60 minutes, regardless of the content and type of consultation.
The consultation time is adjusted if aids such as translation or
personal assistance (e.g. sign language interpreters) are required.
- Type of consultations:
We offer the following consultations:
a) Writing coaching - support during the process, please get in touch early in the process
b) Writing advice - advice on specific questions about writing
c) Text feedback - a specific writing project, e.g. a term paper, is discussed
- Cancellation of consultations:
If you are ill or otherwise unable to attend, please cancel up to one day before the consultation so that we can release the appointments again.
- Number of consultations:
a) Accompanying the BA tutorial: 3 consultations per student
b) Writing consultation and writing coaching: every 2-3 weeks up to 7 appointments/student
c) Text feedback: personal consultation/discussion about the text, up to 7 appointments/student

We are a service center of the Alice Salomon University. Our team is made up of student peer tutors and permanent employees.
As such, we offer support during the process, but no editing/proofreading.
Our consultations are not legally binding. The responsibility for the text remains with the students.
