About us

Our focus

We advise all ASH students across all semesters and degree programs.
Our focus is on advising women* with experiences migration and refugee experiences, advising non-first language speakers German and developing anti-discriminatory and empowering offers and workshops.
To this end, we network within the university with the Newcomer Office, the General Student Advisory Service, the library and almost all other departments. We talk to heads of degree programs, lecturers and take part in external training courses and conferences.

Topics

We accompany your writing process with writing impulses and methods so that you can better understand your writing process and overcome writer's block.
We provide input on self-organization and time management.
We also take into account factors that influence your writing process and adopt a holistic approach to our consultancy services.
We are always available to answer any questions you may have about academic work and academic writing.

Our team

Our team is made up of two employees (65%) and two student employees (40h/month each).
We report to the overall management of the Department of Quality Management in Studies and Teaching (QME SuL). This assignment makes it clear that our services go beyond the activities of a writing center: We see ourselves as a service center that interacts with all departments of the university, communicates needs and also refers you to other contact persons outside the service center.
