Offers for international newcomers

Alice Salomon University supports international newcomers in their studies and career entry in Germany with various offers. These services range from advice, support and empowerment to language and specialist courses, skills-oriented workshops and networking events.

Information on all events and offers for international newcomers can be found on Moodle. With the key “newcomer” international students of ASH Berlin can register themselves and exchange offers, requests and information. Register now!

The following offers are aimed at all international newcomers who would like to improve their language skills in an academic context during their studies and would like support in the use of German as a language of studies:

  • Open language group and advice on Wednesdays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in room 236:
    Understandig specialist texts and individual questions
  • Discussion group on Tuesday from 4-6 p.m. in room 232:
    Focus on confident speaking and space for exchange
  • Individual coaching by arrangement

Every second Wednesday of the month, we invite all international newcomers to ASH Berlin to a get-together in the Future Skills Workspace (K1.02): Here you can discuss all your questions about studying and everyday life at university. Come along and get to know other international newcomers and the university!

Register via the Moodle course for international newcomers (registration code: newcomer) or drop by spontaneously!

Study confidently in German!

The Service Center for Writing and Study Skills supports students with individual counseling and workshops on understanding texts, writing term papers, developing a personal academic language, dealing with AI, research, and time management.
Contact specifically for non-native speakers is Marlene Pardeller: pardeller@avoid-unrequested-mailsash-berlin.eu.

The writing and speaking workshop, especially for non-first language learners, will take place every Wednesday from 12 to 2 pm in the summer semester 2025.

The ASH Language Center offers courses at various levels and in various languages throughout the semester - including German as a foreign language.
