Abstract:
New paths in the academisation of health professions: The project has designed a "Bachelor’s Study Course for Interprofessional Health Care - Online" for working nurses, physiotherapists, occupational therapists and speech therapists and is due to start with 40 pilot students in the winter semester 2018/2019.

The aim is to develop (phase I), test and evaluate (phase II) a part-time, online-based bachelor’s degree programme for six occupational groups working together in care practice: speech therapy, nursing (including general, geriatric and paediatric nursing), physiotherapy and occupational therapy. The specific orientation towards the study needs and demands of so-called non-traditional students as a target group of the programme is a key characteristic of the project. The interdisciplinary nature of the programme constitutes the basis for interprofessional teamwork in healthcare. The contents of the course are closely aligned with current scientific findings, in conjunction with the requirements of professional challenges.
In the first phase, the priority was to develop the professional and organisational concept of the course, for which various studies were carried out within the target group and also in the fields of work. National and international experience with online-based teaching were considered in order to develop target group-oriented study skills.
Starting in the winter semester 2018/2019, 40 pilot students will study the first modules, while at the same time a competence and process-oriented evaluation will take place every semester. In addition, research in interprofessional education (IPE) and interprofessional collaboration (IPC) in the field of healthcare will be promoted in collaboration with other universities. The aim is to promote better quality and interprofessional healthcare through close theory-practice integration and applied research orientation.
